Hello, My self Gurdial Singh, 48 Years-old. Currently living in IIT Kanpur. My hometown is Kalka(Haryana).
I want to share all of my past problems I had related to this disease
I had pain in my knee for past 2 years, which I ignored initially since it didn’t bother me much. Gradually over time, pain worsened and I was not able to straighten my knee and walk properly. Pain was unbearable and I had to use walker for mobilisation.. I consulted local orthopaedic doctor, who suspected a bone tumour and suggested me to see Dr Rajat Gupta.
We met Dr Rajat, who suspected bone cancer and advised me to get MRI, PET CT scan and a needle biopsy. Biopsy proved it to be synovial sarcoma. Dr Rajat told us it’s a type of bone cancer but good part is it has not spread anywhere else. On hearing the diagnosis of a bone cancer, me and my family was shaken and scared but the doctor gave us so much positive energy and positive vibes. He told us that this can be cured and I would need a surgery to remove the cancerous bone followed by chemotherapy.
On August 31, 2017, Dr Rajat performed my surgery at Alchemist Hospital. It was a long surgery which lasted around 9-10 hours. Surgery went off well and I was relieved of that unbearable pain I had in my knee. To my surprise, I was made to walk the very next day as promised by the doctor. Doctor visited us regularly in the hospital and monitored my physiotherapy. I was discharged after 1 week. I was referred for chemotherapy after my sutures were removed.
I received 6 cycles of chemotherapy with a gap of 3 weeks between each chemotherapy. I lost all my hair during chemotherapy.
Now, in March 2018, I am back to work. My treatment is over and I have joined my job. I am able to walk properly with the help of stick. I am able to climb stairs. I continue to do my physiotherapy as advised by Dr Rajat. Now, I’m living a happy life and all the credit goes to the Dr. Rajat Gupta who gave us so much positive vibes and positive energy in our life and gave me a hope to start a new life. I am very happy that I’d put my trust into a good human-being. At last, I would like to thank the doctor again from all my family members.

Doctor’s remarks: Gurdial Singh had synovial sarcoma of Rt knee extending into his distal femur(Thigh bone). It was non metastatic (Not spread anywhere else) and was taken up for Extra-articular Distal femur resection with megaprosthesis with Gastrocnemius flap (in which the cancerous bone was removed in toto with the knee joint and the defect was reconstructed with artificial implant). Patient was given chemotherapy in the adjuvant setting (after the surgery). Currently, patient is able to walk full weight bearing with the help of stick (since his extensor mechanism had to be removed during surgery for adequate clearance). He is back to his job doing his routine activities.
